The ECO4 Boiler Scheme, part of the UK government's Energy Company Obligation initiative, focuses on improving energy efficiency, reducing carbon emissions, and alleviating fuel poverty. It offers funding to replace outdated heating systems, including boilers, with modern, energy-efficient alternatives.

• Purpose: To support low-income and vulnerable households in enhancing energy efficiency in their homes.
• Eligible Measures: Free boiler replacements, installation of first-time central heating, insulation upgrades, and renewable energy systems like solar panels.
• Duration: Active from April 2022 to March 2026.

• A household must have:
  
  • A non-condensing boiler, back boiler, or no central heating system.
  • An energy performance rating of D, E, F, or G.
  • A boiler that is at least 12 years old.
• Eligible property owners:
  
  • Homeowners or landlords (if the tenant is a relative).
• Beneficiaries must receive one or more of the following:
  
  • Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance
  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • Income Support
  • Pension Credit Guarantee
  • Working Tax Credit
  • Child Tax Credit
  • Universal Credit
  • Housing Benefits
  • Pension Credit Savings Credit
  • Child Benefits
• Alternatively, households with an annual income under £31,000 may qualify.
